THE UNTUNING OF THE SKY
2016
THE HENRY ART GALLERY
I imagined seeing the stars like the experience of language before it has encountered other language; like the written word before spelling had been standardized; something wild and felt, something with meaning that demands to be deciphered.
The Untuning of the Sky was a series of outdoor summer events that brought together music, poetry, and film inspired by the mystery and wonder of the sky at night. Held at venues across Seattle, the first of the events took place at The Center for Wooden Boats hosted by Jim Demetre and featured Memory Charted, newly commissioned work by myself, alongside new work by Natasha Marin and a debut of atmospheric work from Nat Evans.
CV
A writer and curator exploring the liminal spaces of the literary arts. I am the author of two chapbooks and have fiction, reviews, and poetry published widely. My interest in how words can be experienced has led to solo work and collaborations to create installations, music performances, broadsides, karaoke, and video poetry. I founded and directed Till, a literary organization that offered an annual writing residency, and am currently co-director of Cadence Video Poetry Festival at Northwest Film Forum.
I’m also a very professional professional
